"LEAN ON ME"
We were practicing the song "Lean On Me" in music class just before COVID-19 hit and now we are hearing it more and more these days. It is such a meaningful song, especially right now as people are trying to reach out to one another. I've made a video for you to watch and to sing along with me. I want you to know that you can call on me and I encourage you to reach out to others too. Let's have fun singing this song together boys and girls! But first, a special thank you to the late Bill Withers for his inspiring lyrics. We are grateful to learn, listen and lean on music during this time of need.

Children's Blessing Song
Children's Blessing Song: At special Deroche Bear Nation events and celebrations, our Culture Club Drums and sings this song for our students. Since all of our students know this song now, we all sing it together when students and families gather together at our school.

Lll'wat Song or Salmon Song
Every year at our school we have a Salmon Celebration where we honour salmon by putting fry we've raised in fish tanks into our outdoor classroom stream. This is one of the songs we sing together at this special event. This year, due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, we were not able to have hold this important event. We can still sing this song and honour salmon as we do so.
