Deroche Elementary is a
small rural public school nestled at the foot of Deroche Mountain. We are located on North Deroche Road just off
the Lougheed Highway, approximately 20 minutes east of Mission. Our students come from the surrounding areas
of Deroche and Lake Errock including the bands of Leq’a:mel and Scowlitz First
Nations. Our student body is generally
85-95 students from Kindergarten to Grade 6 with 75% having Indigenous heritage.
Unique to Deroche
Elementary is our “Forest and Stream” Stewardship Program. We are fortunate to have this amazing site on
our school grounds for place-based learning.
We are also a health and wellness promoting school and have created an
environment that supports healthy choices.
Our mission is to build a respectful school community and inspire
lifelong learners. We aim to provide a
safe, healthy and supportive atmosphere where students can learn and grow. We welcome new and returning families and are
committed to providing a rewarding learning experience for all of our Deroche
students.
