Deroche Elementary School is a small, rural, K-6 School located in the small community of Deroche, British Columbia, Canada. It is located on North Deroche Road just off the Lougheed Highway between Mission and Agassiz, BC. Our staff and teachers are committed to providing the best learning experience in a supportive environment – we love to see each child grow! Our setting is beautiful with the school nestled at the foot of Deroche Mountain. Children enjoy paved playing areas around the building and a large fenced field with playground on the north side.
The student body is generally around 100 children. Almost 60% of our students are of aboriginal heritage. They come predominately from the Leq’a:mel and Scowlitz First Nations. (See our Aboriginal Connections for more information.) Our students come from a wide area around Deroche: west from Nicomen Island to east from Lake Errock. Some are driven to school, a few even walk, but many take a convenient district school bus.
We welcome new and returning families to our learning community!
