Deroche Elementary School

Deroche Elementary School is a small, rural, K-6 School located in the small community of Deroche, British Columbia, Canada. It is located on North Deroche Road just off the Lougheed Highway between Mission and Agassiz, BC. Our staff and teachers are committed to providing the best learning experience in a supportive environment – we love to see each child grow! Our setting is beautiful with the school nestled at the foot of Deroche Mountain. Children enjoy paved playing areas around the building and a large fenced field with playground on the north side.

The student body is generally around 80 children. Almost 75% of our students are of aboriginal heritage. They come predominately from the Leq’a:mel and Scowlitz First Nations. (See our Aboriginal Connections for more information.) Our students come from a wide area around Deroche: west from Nicomen Island to east from Lake Errock. Some are driven to school, a few even walk, but many take a convenient district school bus.

We welcome new and returning families to our learning community!

Bus Transportation Registration for 2018-19

Families are advised that registration of students for bus transportation for the 2018-19 school year will begin on May 1st through to June 30, 2018. In order to ride a district school bus, all new and returning riders must complete a registration form each year.

Registration can be initiated by using our online bus registration form. This can be accessed at www.mpsd.ca and clicking on the 'Transportation' link on the left hand side of the Home page.

Students who qualify to use district transportation services but have not registered by June 30th, or students who are cross boundary students, are not guaranteed tranportation as it will depend on availability of service.

The Transportation office will be closed between July 1st and August 22, 2018. However, online registrations may still be submitted throughout July and August.
